It has certainly been a while since we had a holiday tournament, and it was good to get back to a regular constructed deck format. Well, it seemed that way at least! Benji and Razor were the first to go against each other. Benji slipped out his "collective" trump and the Borg never had it so good. Razor never really got out of the gate as the Borg took the Dominion down in a blazing 110-0 victory. Next it was Bockers turn against the collective, with very similar results. Both times Benji went after homeworlds and came up on top, taking Bockers out as well 115-60. All that remained then was to find the runner-up in what turned out to be one of the longest matches in sanctioned FLF history (between two players). The Dominion vs. the Klingon Empire. It took both players a little while to get going, but the field was levelled by a one-man (or founder) ship in the alpha quadrant going after a powerful Klingon battleship. After taking damage on a mission attempt before the battle, the Klingon ship in its weakened state succumbed to the small attack vessel. It was lost soon afer to a retaliatory strike, but Bockers needed time to recover. Razor got a fleet moving and then went after Bockers main vessel after he (Bockers) got a few missions under his belt. Razor boarded with invasive beam-in and quickly took no prisoners (OK, maybe one), and left Bockers with no choice but to forfeit the game and give Razor a 100-80 win. Benji now takes his 4th tournament title, and becomes the man to beat next time. Hopefully this summer will bring more surprises and nasty tricks.
