What a day it was! The second Holiday Tournament marked the closing of the first year for the Forest Lake Federation. The last time that the tournament format will be as it was before, due to the new rules laid out by the First Contact expansion. Everyone with the exception of Tournament Champion Admiral Benji was up for promotion, and only one member, now Admiral Bockers, earned his advancement. Unfortunately, due to time conflicts, we had to cut the tournament a round short, but a great time was had by all.
Some deck strategies proved very effective, such as Benji's killer Federation deck, but old decks that had worked for the best, such as Commodore Razor's Non-Alligned deck, were coming up short. Razor came out strong with his Romulan Treachery-fest deck and blanked Captian Wolfe in the frist round, but only earned a technical later on and struggled the rest of the time to stay afloat. Bockers came in with some interesting ideas, and as always came out with several technical wins. Wolfe held up well against strong opposition and got in a full victory against Razor in round 4. Benji's superior deck and tactical planning (once again in the face of not one, but two Barclay's Protomorphosis Disease dilemmas) earned him the overall lead and the first ever repeat as FLF Tournament Champion.
