Memorial Day 1997

Results:

The day got off to a slow start as both Wolfe and Bockers had to take time to finish their decks before the matches began. The first round began with Razor scoring early to take the lead he would not lose in that game. Benji threatened to destroy Wolfe at every chance he got, but in the end, even after having half his crew wiped out by Rouge Borg Mercenaries, Wolfe rode on to victory. Bockers had several early problems and was just as quickly defeated by Razor. The consolation round was even faster for Bockers. It only took Benji 73 minutes to crush the Captain with more than a little force. Bockers only points were scored by a Mandarin Baliff and a Lemon-Aid encountered in one of Q-Flashes Benji encountered. However, on the finals end, Wolfe roared out of the blocks to take not only the first mission, but beat Razor to his own Artifacts. The game didn't last much longer, and ended with Razor stranded on the near end of the spaceline with not enough personel to fly the Future Enterprise home. The end of the day marked the Commander's first two FLF victories, and the tranference of the title to the odds-on underdog. Razor was quoted as saying, "He just came out of nowhere and pounded me from card one!" On his victory, Wolfe said, "I never thought it would happen, but here I am, NUMBER ONE!!!" Captain Benji, the only FLF member not to win a tournament so far, said, "Next time will be different! Preparation is irrelivant. You will all be assimilated!"
